Guinness Cake

1 pound flour
½ pound butter
1 pound sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ pound dried cherries
1 ½ pounds dried fruit, mixed variety
1 bottle guinness
4 eggs
1 lemon


Rub the butter into the flour. Mix well with the dry ingredients. Mix in dried fruit. Add the guinness, lemon juice and beaten eggs. Bake in an 8 inch tin or bundt pan in a slow oven (300 degrees) for about three hours.
